Look us up under Groups and Join! In the Company of Women “Riding the Wave(s)” We are women and we have so much to offer. We each have our own
stories to tell and our own wisdom to share. The world is enriched when
we recognize our gifts and give them voice. Where can we go to find that
voice and give our dreams wings? In the company of women, mothers, sisters, daughters, lovers all together living and growing in an intentional community of support and nurturing energy; that’s where! Join us as we explore ourselves and share in morning programs, afternoon workshops and evening activities where we will make new connections, renew cherished friendships and give voice to the power and mystery that is womanhood.
Making Art: Finding Fairies: Led by Mickey Reed & Maryann Ficker Come with us on a fairy hunt... They hide in the woods, on the waves, in our humor and in our hearts. You'll be surprised to know that fairies (and their accoutrements) can be made of felt, clay, wire, cloth or just about any other material you can imagine or care to bring with you. They can take form in dolls, charms, puppets and jewelry. With laughter and imagination we'll make folks wonder if the name Fairy.... oops! Ferry Beach was inspired by the presence of these magical creatures
Calm Your Anxious Mind (Yoga /Meditation): Led by Judy Gross Using various forms of yoga and meditation, we will practice stress-reduction techniques that help us respond to life challenges in an effective and healthy way. The whole-body movement sequence strengthens the body and releases muscular tension. A variety of meditation techniques offer simple ways to settle the mind and cultivate clarity and acceptance. All are welcome--no experience with yoga or meditation necessary. Class size limited to 8. Women loving women: Led by Judy B. Carpenter & Connie Dunn. Come Ride the Waves of fun and sharing while diving deep into our psyche and spiritual selves. Our unique community of lesbians, bisexual and questioning women have been around for 22 years at Ferry Beach. We will continue to provide a safe nurturing space with small and large group discussions, sharing stories, creating and participating in activities and playing together.
Shamanic Journey: Led by Debra Damelio & Leah Goat Do you want to open up to and access the wisdom of the spiritual realm and it's spirit guides? Whether you are an experienced journeyer or a curious beginner, you will have the opportunity in this workshop to experience a variety of indoor and outdoor Shamanic Divination techniques. Grandmothers' Council, casting, ocean surf/wind and earth walk divination as well as creating personal divination cards are some of the ways we will connect with the guidance we seek. Together, let's "ride those waves" of spirit in Shamanic style!
Sacred Circle Dance: Led by Cathy Jay. In this workshop, we will ride the waves of rhythm on our journeys to wholeness. Simple dances, guided meditation and group sharing will help us awaken to the peace within us, the love around us and the joy in our connection to one another and all of life. Soulwork, not footwork, will be our intention so no dance experience or expertise is necessary. Limited to 15. NEW: The Independent Track: An afternoon offering open to all: The Healing Sea, Facilitator: Jane H. This is a twelve step program that meets daily before dinner. It is not one of the morning program choices and all are welcome. This is a loving and supportive program designed around the needs of participants who are living in recovery. Do you struggle with alcohol, drugs, drama, or money issues? Are you ready to stop “living addictively” and start dealing with the disease of “not enough”? If so, please join this group for a week of sharing, caring and growing from the perspective of the 12 steps.
In the Company of Women is a conference for adult women 18 years and older. It is essential that you indicate your morning program preference when you register. You will be contacted by your program coordinator prior to the conference.
Ferry Beach begins on-line and phone registration in January. Early registration is recommended.
In addition to dorm accommodations, camp sites are
available. Campers have the option of purchasing meals or cooking their
own.
